In the summer of 1989, four kids in Tokyo witness the emergence of the turtle kaiju Gamera, who bravely stands up against giant human-eating monsters.
1989年夏天，小学六年级的波可、纯一、乔迎来了小学生涯最后的暑假。每个人心中都有对未来模糊不清的不安。驻日美军司令官的儿子布洛迪出现在三人的面前，夺走了他们存下的现金。愤怒的波可等人决定策划一个行动来夺回金钱。正当他们准备执行这个行动的时候，却突然发生了一场危机，一只名叫卡欧斯的怪兽突然袭击了东京，将城市变成废墟。四人惊恐地站在废墟中。就在盖欧斯准备袭击他们时，一只巨大的怪兽出现了，它的名字叫做卡美拉。这标志着四人“怪兽之夏”的开始。
