诸葛吉（郑宇饰）曾是南韩跆拳道国家队选手。后因捲入丑闻被踢出国家队，并且终身剥夺运动员的身分。他不愿从此远离体育世界，于是成了一名"精神教练"，也就是运动心理学家，专门帮助战绩不佳陷入"低迷"的选手。 在新工作中他要帮助一个名叫车佳乙（李瑜美饰）的年轻女孩，她是短道竞速滑冰选手，梦想在冬奥会上夺冠。虽然她极具天赋，且夺得过世锦赛金牌，但现在她已信心尽失，需要重新振作起来。但诸葛吉要做到这点并不容易。具太万（权律饰）也曾是跆拳道明星，其过往与诸葛吉有交集，现在已升任国家田径协会人权中心的主任。他们因工作不得不见面，时不时会发生争执摩擦。此外，他这个"精神教练"还要与在运动员时期就认识的运动顾问朴承河（朴世荣饰）共事。他能成功吗？能为南韩夺得金牌立下自己的功劳吗？
Gil Je Gal (Jung Woo) is a former member of the South Korean national Taekwondo team. But when he is caught up in a scandal, he is kicked off the team and permanently banned from returning as an athlete. He is reluctant to turn his back on the world of sports, however, so has become a "mental coach" – a kind of sports psychologist who specializes in helping athletes who have fallen into poor form, or "slumps." As part of his new line of work, he must help a young woman named Cha Ga Eul (Lee Yoo Mi). This woman is a short-track speed skater who dreams of glory at the Winter Olympic Games. Although she is supremely talented and already has a World Championship gold medal under her belt, she has lost her self-belief and needs motivation. But Gil Je Gal’s task will not be easy: Ku Tae Man (Kwon Yool), another former Taekwondo star and a man whose path has crossed with that of Gil Je Gal in the past, has risen to become the director of the human rights center at the national athletics association. Sparks may fly when they are forced to work together. Meanwhile, the "mental coach" must also work with Park Seung Ha (Park Se Young), an athletes' counselor who he previously met when he was an athlete. Will he succeed – and help bring home a gold medal for South Korea?
