Kisah Gundam Wing bermula di tahun Selepas Koloni 195, dengan bermulanya Operasi Meteor, rancangan ahli sains untuk membalas dendam terhadap organisasi tentera OZ. Operasi tersebut melibatkan 5 orang remaja yang dilatih oleh salah seorang dari 5 ahli sains penyayang, kemudian dihantar ke Bumi dalam Mobile Suit yang canggih, masing-masingnya direka cipta oleh kumpulan ahli sains itu. Mobile Suit ini digelar sebagai Gundam kerana ianya dibina dengan bahan-bahan yang jarang ditemui dan teguh, iaitu Gundanium aloi, yang hanya dapat dicipta di luar angkasa.
The story of Gundam Wing begins in the year After Colony 195, with the start of Operation Meteor, the scientists' plan for revenge against the OZ military organization. The operation involves five young boys who have each been chosen and trained by one of the five rogue scientists, then sent to Earth independently in extremely advanced Mobile Suits, one designed by each of the scientists, known as "Gundams."
