白素贞身为妖类的消息传遍临安城，受到百姓的排斥。许仙为了保护白素贞吞下邪药万灵丹，化成妖形，被法海带入金山寺。但白素贞产下幼子后，却因罪孽深重被关雷峰塔。白素贞因情被囚，许仙云游行医积善救妻，若夫妻团聚，除非雷峰塔倒，西湖水干。
